Ph.D., University of Oklahoma
Dr. Harold Jones is executive director of operations for University Outreach. He and his staff work closely with divisions in the College of Continuing Education and the College of Liberal Studies to provide support services. Prior to joining the University Outreach staff, Dr. Jones was an assistant and then an associate professor of music in higher education for 14 years, serving as music department chair on two occasions. He has published articles in refereed journals addressing music performance evaluation and rating scale construction. In addition, Dr. Jones has been a church musician for 20 years. Dr. Jones is an adjunct professor in the Department of Human Relations and teaches the Arts, Media and Culture in Human Relations for Advanced Programs. He is an active member of OU's Administrative Staff Council and has served on the Staff Senate. In 1999, he received OU's E. Neal Stone Superior Performance Award Dr. Jones has completed 14 years of progressive training, managerial and administrative responsibilities in adult and higher professional education and program development at University Outreach. He has participated in the Institute for the Management of Lifelong Education (MLE) at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and holds a doctorate in music education from OU. Dr. Jones is married to Jan and they have two children.
